NDC & Aurivo host Health & Wellbeing Evening in Castlebar

Style and beauty blogger Pippa O’Connor, expert dietitian Paula Mee and celebrity chef Joe Shannon were in Castlebar on Thursday 3rd March 2016 for a Health & Wellbeing Evening at Breaffy House Resort.

With the event organised jointly by Connacht Gold and the National Dairy Council, all proceeds from admission tickets and a raffle on the night were in aid of the ISPCC’s Childline. Ireland’s oldest children’s charity, it aims to protect children 24 hours a day through the operation of a chat, text and online service for children who may be in need of help.

Grow Strong; Be Strong; Stay Strong

Paula Mee, one of Ireland’s leading independent dietitians who has worked with TV3 (Doctors in the House) and RTÉ (Health Squad) gave plenty of practical insights on ‘Nutrition & You: Grow Strong; Be Strong; Stay Strong.
Paula brought us through the life stages, exploring how – from the young to old – we can make good food choices that can affect our health and wellbeing in a positive way.  Known for her lively and informative presentations, Paula gave practical tips and insights into developing positive habits, managing body weight and tackling some of the myths that may affect our food choices.

Look Good, Feel Good

Every year over 5 million people visit Pippa O’Connor’s website to read about her fashion, beauty and lifestyle tips.  Pippa was in Castlebar to share her insights about ‘Looking Good and Feeling Good’ with guests at the Connacht Gold and National Dairy Council Health and Wellbeing Evening.

The businesswoman and former model was voted ‘The Most Stylish Woman of the Year’ at the 2015 VIP Style Awards.  Pippa is also a busy mum to Ollie and looking forward to the arrival of a new brother or sister for Ollie in May.

Culinary Tips from Celebrity Chef

A seasoned, award winning chef, Joe Shannon is Executive Chef of the Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa Sligo. He is well known for his media works, where he is a regular contributor with Aidan Cooney on the hugely popular TV3 “Ireland AM”. He is also well known for his radio work with stations such as Ocean FM, MWR, Today fm, Newstalk, 2fm, BBC Northern Ireland to mention but a few.

Joe is well known for contributing a light hearted approach to recipes adding fun and laughter on the way. At the Health & Wellbeing evening in Castlebar he demonstrated some feel good food recipes and share some Easter entertaining tips, whilst showcasing the quality and diversity of Irish dairy, of course.
