EU School Milk Scheme

The EU School Milk Scheme is subsidised and provides a daily fresh portion of milk to school-going children at a very affordable price in Primary, Secondary and Montessori schools.

These lesson plans have been developed so that your pupils will have the opportunity to learn about the Food Pyramid, healthy eating, the importance of partaking in regular physical activity, dental hygiene, dairy and the environment and the story of milk ‘from grass to your glass’.

We know that it’s a difficult time for parents, teachers and pupils. That’s why we have created a virtual classroom where Micheál and the Moo Crew are bringing the classroom into your home (conforming to social distancing regulations of course!). We hope that you enjoy the videos and accompanying worksheets and activities and that you learn lots of interesting facts about nutrition, dairy foods, keeping active and dairy farming!

One of the most important factors when choosing to cook with your children is that you pick the right time to do it and pick the right recipe. Picking a time when you are rushing can lead to a great deal of stress as, when you involve children in the kitchen, you have to be able to relax and accept that they are inexperienced and slower than you – and that there may be a mess!
