Double the Fun with the Goodness of Dairy | National Dairy Council hosts a packed agenda at Bord Bia Bloom 2025

The Grass Advantage, Show Garden at Bord Bia Bloom 2025 Designed by Robert Moore

The National Dairy Council (NDC) is set to make a splash at this year’s Bord Bia Bloom, taking place in Phoenix Park over the June Bank Holiday weekend. As a farmer-funded marketing agency, the NDC will celebrate Irish dairy farming with a host of interactive events, educational talks, and delicious dairy tastings over the five-day event.

This is NDC’s fourth time at Bord Bia Bloom and it provides an excellent opportunity to promote sustainable dairy production and educate visitors on dairy nutrition. This year NDC will have two areas – a large concept garden, “The Grass Advantage” designed by Robert Moore which will include a stunning five-metre-high milk churn sculpture, a powerful symbol of the cultural heritage and global reputation of Irish dairy.

In the second area NDC will host a dedicated Schools Hub within the main concourse, promoting the Moo Crew Schools programme and dairy nutrition education. The area is designed to look like an actual classroom with fun imagery and diagrams promoting 3-5 servings of dairy a day. There is also a spinning wheel where visitors can win prizes and a model cow display which can be milked!

Key Activities and Events at the NDC Garden:

  • Sampling delicious dairy! Visitors can enjoy tastings of premium Irish yogurt, cheese, and milk, alongside talks on the future of food, bone health, and the benefits of dairy for overall wellness.
  • A Scoop and a Yarn: Food writer Dee Laffan, Editor of Scoop Food Magazine will be bringing her popular Scoop & a Yarn series to Bloom chatting to some of Ireland’s best loved chefs.
  • The All Ireland Jiving champions Niamh Doyle and Conor O’Donnell will also be taking a spin in the NDC garden on Friday and Saturday afternoon and chatting to broadcaster Keith Walsh.
  • Refuel, Repair and Rehydrate with some of Ireland’s top athletes – Vikki Wall, GAA, Ross Corrigan Rower and Fiona Coghlan, former Irish rugby international as they discuss the importance of good nutrition with Dr Sharon Madigan from Sport Ireland.
  • Farming Fun: Children across Ireland were invited to share their visions of the future of farming, the winning children will be chatting bout their dreams for the future.
